    Jeffrey Zeigler, cello, and Dr. Nicola Melville, piano, will perform from 7:30-9:30 p.m. Oct. 14 in Gantner Concert Hall, Haas Fine Arts Center. 
    Jeffrey Zeigler is a California native, who currently resides in Brooklyn, N.Y. He holds a bachelor of music degree from the Eastman School of Music at the University of Rochester and a master of music degree from the Shepherd School of Music at Rice University.
    From 2002-03 Zeigler served as the cellist-in-residence at Texas Christian University and this season will be a distinguished visiting professor at the University of Oregon. He is a regular contributor to the blog "CelloBello." This fall, Zeigler will also begin teaching cello at the Mannes College The New School for Music in New York City.
    Dr. Nicola Melville is a classical pianist and assistant professor of music at Carlton College and is on the faculty of the Chautauqua Summer Festival.  Melville received a bachelor of music from the Victoria University of Wellington (New Zealand) and master of music and doctor of musical arts degrees as well as a performer's certificate from the Eastman School of Music. 
    Melville has commissioned and premiered many works by composers in the U.S. and her native New Zealand. Along with being an advocate for new music, her ongoing interests include interdisciplinary performances that combine music with other arts in live performance.
