UW-Eau Claire will host the fall
concert of the Singing Statesmen, under the direction of Dr. Gary Schwartzhoff,
at 7:30 p.m. Nov. 8 in Gantner Concert Hall of the Haas Fine Arts Center.
The Statesmen, composed of 57
male students from various academic backgrounds, will perform works by Clausen, de Escobar, Tallis, Biebl, Conte, Britten and many others.
The ensemble is celebrating its 48th season in 2013-14 as one of the premier university male choruses in the United States. The group has released nine
recordings during its history. Each year the Statesmen are showcased in the
Homecoming Varsity Show and the Viennese Ball, among many other performances.
Tickets, available at the Service Center in Davies
Center, are $6 for the public; $4 for those 62 and older, 17 and younger and UW-Eau Claire faculty/staff; and $1.50 for UW-Eau Claire students with
a university ID.
