Concert: Wind Symphony and Symphony Band

       The UW-Eau Claire Symphony Band, directed by Dr. Phillip Ostrander, and the Wind Symphony, directed by Dr. John Stewart, will perform at 7:30 p.m. Nov. 22 in Gantner Concert Hall of the Haas Fine Arts Center.
Dr. Frank Battisti will serve as guest conductor for both groups. Conductor emeritus of the New England Conservatory Wind Ensemble, Battisti founded and conducted the ensemble for 30 years. Today the NEC Wind Ensemble is recognized as one of the premiere ensembles of its kind. Battisti has conducted numerous professional, university and school wind bands and ensembles throughout the world.
       The Symphony Band and Wind Symphony will perform a variety of works. Dr. Jeffery Crowell will perform as a featured percussion soloist with the Wind Symphony.
       Tickets, available at the
Service Center, are $6 for the public; $4 for those 62 and older or 17 and younger; and $1.50 for UW-Eau Claire faculty, staff and students.
