The UW-Eau Claire department of art & design invites the community to join the annual fall art trip to Chicago. This year's cultural adventure to the Windy City will leave Eau Claire on Thursday, Oct. 17, and return Sunday, Oct. 20. Notable attractions in Chicago this fall will include: • "Shomei Tomatsu: Island Life," "Max Kozloff: Critic and Photographer" and "3 in 1: Contemporary Explorations in Architecture and Design" at the Art Institute of Chicago. • "Think First, Shoot Later: Photography from the MCA Collection" and "Modern Cartoonist: The Art of Daniel Clowes" at the Museum of Contemporary Art. • "State of Mind: New California Art Circa 1970" at the Smart Museum of Art. Tickets are $240 per person for four-person rooms and include three nights at the Howard Johnson's on LaSalle Street, chartered bus and a three-day rail/bus pass. Tickets are available at the Service Center in Davies Center and are going fast. Ticket sales end at 3 p.m. Friday, Oct. 11. The trip is open to all students, faculty, staff and community members.
