UW-Eau Claire will host the presentation "From Eau Claire to Cajun Country: What Connects Us?" from 3-3:30 p.m. Nov. 21 in Room 107 of Schneider Hall.

Senior biochemistry/molecular biology major Mariah Dorner and sophomore French and psychology double major Carly Murray traveled to Louisiana last spring as a part of a domestic immersion program offered through the "Cajun Watershed" course.

The presentation will trace the history of the Chippewa Valley and Louisiana, specifically focusing on French influence. The students will discuss why the culture of each area developed so differently and explore the connections of these two regions through the significance of their river systems.

For more information, contact Dr. Jessica Miller, associate professor of French, at 715-836-4267 or millerjs@uwec.edu.
