"kNOw Meth Barron County"
Stacey Frolik, director of Barron Co. Dept. Health and Human Services

“kNOw Meth Barron County”?  Yes, we should all “know” more about the effects of methamphetamines.  Yes, we can work toward “no” more meth in Barron County!  Stacey Frolik has been the Director of Health and Human Services for the county for the past 4 years, and she worked for the county as a social worker for 16 years prior to that.  She has seen first-hand the deleterious effects that meth has on families in our area.  She will talk about the social and emotional costs of this drug, as well as the ways in which it is a financial drain on county resources.  She will also discuss what needs to be done to solve this problem, and how each of us can assist in this process.

Lecture attendees are welcome to bring their lunch to the presentation.

Thursdays @ the U lecture series will run throughout the spring semester. The series, partly funded by the UW-Barron County Foundation, will explore topics in the arts, sciences, public affairs, literary fields and cultural areas. While hosting a variety of speakers, the university does not seek to endorse or promote a particular idea, opinion, topic or product over others.

These lectures are free and open to the public.
