Jeffrey Amundson, psychology department UW-Stevens Point, will present "Agricultural Hemp."

Did you know Wisconsin was one of the leading producers of hemp for the World War II effort?  Do you know why hemp was needed for the war effort?  Do you know hemp is not marijuana?  Regardless, join us for an hour to explore the history of hemp in Wisconsin.  You’ll find out more about the many uses of hemp and its potential positive socioeconomic benefits for our state.

Amundson, grew up in Menomonie, WI on his family's dairy farm.  He worked in Vermont for a hemp company after graduating from UW-Stout.  Currently, Amundson holds a Ph.D. in biopsychology and teaches psychology courses for UW-Stevens Point.  As part of his community outreach activities, he presents on various topics focused on understanding the human condition.

Lecture attendees are welcome to bring their lunch to the presentation.
