Doppelgangers, Haunted Houses and Inheritances: The Immortal Lives of Gothic and Sensation Novels:

Explore the origins of Gothic and sensation novels, elements of which can be found in current popular works such the Twilight and Harry Potter book series, and in television programs like American Horror Story and Fargo.

Examining several examples, participants will trace the popularity of these “thrillers” from the late 1800s to the present day and be encouraged and inspired to put their own pens to paper and carry on the Gothic and sensational traditions.

Wednesdays, September 27, October 4, and October 11
6:00-7:00 pm
Eau Claire Room of the L.E. Phillips Memorial Public Library
