Paul Desenne

The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire music and theatre arts department will present guest artist Paul Desenne at 7:30 p.m. Nov. 14 in Gantner Concert Hall of the Haas Fine Arts Center.

The program features two main pieces, Suite for Cello Solo No. 3 in C major by J.S. Bach and "Jaguar Songs for Solo Cello (2002)."

Desenne was born in Cracas, Venezuela. His composition work began in Paris and continued in Caracas, where he taught cello performance and chamber music studies.  

His pieces have been performed in famous venues and at prestigious festivals, including Carnegie Hall, the Paris Conservatory and Festival Cervantino in Mexico. The Boston Classical Orchestra, the Miami Symphony and the New Julliard Ensemble, among other groups, have performed his works. More information.
