The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire music and theatre arts department will present The Singing Statesmen, under the direction of Dr. Gary Schwartzhoff, on Nov. 16 at 7:30 p.m. in Gantner Concert Hall of the Haas Fine Arts Center.
The concert will features pieces such as "Consecrate the Place and Day" by Lloyd Pfautsch, "Go Down, Moses" by Moses Hogan and "I Have Had Singing" by Ron Jeffers.
The Singing Statesmen are known for their tradition of performing a variety of choral music ranging from the Renaissance to the Contemporary Period. This year, the group celebrates its 47th season. The Singing Statesmen have performed around the country as well as internationally. They are scheduled to tour abroad in 2013-2014.
Concert tickets, available online and at the University Service Center, 715-836-3727 or 800-949-UWEC, are $6 for the general public; $4 for those 62 and older, children 17 and younger, and faculty and staff with a university ID; and $1.50 for students with a university ID.
