UW-Eau Claire will host a presentation to inform people about how genes affect their lives and the role that genetic counselors play when genetic tests are done.

The presentation will begin with a lecture by guest speaker Audrey Norby, a genetic counselor at the University of Michigan. Her presentation will be followed by a panel discussion with UW-Eau Claire faculty, including Dr. Julie Anderson, associate professor of biology; Dr. Kristin Schaupp, associate professor of philosophy; Dr. April Bleske-Recheck, associate professor of psychology; and Dr. Charlene Burns, professor of religious studies.

The panel will will discuss how their disciplines view genetics and respond to questions brought up by Ms. Norby. Time for Q&A will be available at the end.

The event, which is free and open to the public, is sponsored by McIntyre Library and the UW-Eau Claire Academic Affairs Professional Development Program.
