Now his classic one acts The Bald Soprano and The Lesson are available in an exciting new translation by Pulizer Prize-finalist Tina Howe, acclaimed by Frank Rich as 'one of the smartest playwrights we have.' In the Bald Soprano lonesco throws together a cast of characters including the quintessential British middle-class family the Smiths, their guests the Martins, their maid Mary, and fire chief determined to extinguish all fires - including their hearths. It's an archetypical absurdist tale and lonesco displays his profound take on the problesm inherent in modern communication. The Lesson illustrates lonesco's comic genius, where insanity and farce collide as a professor becomes increasing frustrated with his hapless student, and the student with his mad teacher. \n \nDirected by Jennifer Chapman\n \nPlease call the Service Center for tickets - 715/836-3727. \n

Madrigal Dinner 6:00PM to 9:00PM - Davies Center

6:00PM to 9:00PM - Davies Center: Madrigal Dinner\n\nYe Olde Madrigal Dinner is a 15th-century-style banquet with music and entertainment by the Court Chamber Choir, Court Brass Choir, Court Recorders and Court Thespians.\n\nA candlelit 15th Century banquet hall, draped with medieval banners and evergreen accents the scene. \n \n\nDirected by Jennifer Chapman\n \n\nPlease call the Service Center for tickets - 715/836-3727. \n\n\n

University Theatre: "The Bald Soprano" and "The Lesson" 7:30PM to 10:00PM - Kjer Theatre

7:30PM to 10:00PM - Kjer Theatre: Often called the father of Theatre of the Absurd, Eugene lonesco wrote groundbreaking plays that are simultaneously hilarious, tragic, and profound.
